Industrial Engineering Instructor - Adjunct

The Technology Division is accepting applications to be considered for adjunct instruction.  Adjunct instructors are appointed quarter to quarter based on student enrollment. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Teach basic metallurgy class (IE 189) as follows for Winter Quarter (Jan - Mar) Mondays & Wednesdays from 5 - 8 p.m.

IE 189 - Basic Metallurgy - 4 credits

Introduces the basic structure of metals and the effects of alloying elements, mechanical working and heat on the strength of other properties of the metal.  Students perform testing procedures for evaluating strength, hardness and heat treating processes in the laboratory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Two years experience working in industrial engineering or related field
  • Bachelors degree or higher in a field directly related to industrial engineering or materials engineering

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience working with welders, fabricators and other skilled-trades people
  • Teaching experience

SALARY: Salary is determined by the college salary schedule, and varies depending on the degree and mode of instruction.
