Natural Resources Instructor - Adjunct

The Technology Division is accepting applications to be considered for adjunct instruction.  Adjunct instructors are appointed quarter to quarter based on student enrollment. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Teach NATRS 292 Resource Sampling and Appraisal – Fall Quarter (Sept – Dec).

NATRS 292 Resource Sampling and Appraisal – 8 credits – Mon/Wed/Fri -1:00 to 5:00

Since natural resources are valuable, students acquire skills and knowledge to measure, calculate and sample resources and forest products to determine value using statistically valid procedures. A rigorous course utilizing skills and knowledge gained in previous Natural Resource Courses.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AAS in Natural Resources or Forestry with 10 years field experience in timber appraisal, logging, and log marketing 

  • Ability to teach basic statistics from a forest sampling perspective 

  • Dedication to community college students

  • Commitment to GRCC Natural Resources program

  • Excellent organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Member of Society of American Foresters
  • Contracting/compliance experience
  • Commercial driver's license

SALARY: Salary is determined by the college salary schedule, and varies depending on the degree and mode of instruction.
