The Science Division
is accepting applications to be considered for adjunct instruction.
Adjunct instructors are appointed quarter to quarter based on
student enrollment. Applicants should contact the division for more
information.
THE FOLLOWING COURSES MAY BE AVAILABLE:
Physics 110 (Intro to College Physics)
For students in technical and transfer programs. The course goals
are to further develop an understanding of basic concepts of physics,
and analytical and problem-solving skills. The laboratory is an
integral component of the course. Newton's Laws form the framework
within which ideas of motion, forces, momentum and energy are studied.
Physics 105 (Concepts of Our Physical World)
For the student with no previous experience in physics or other physical
science courses and even an apprehension toward science and math.
Topics such as light, sound, electricity, motion, etc. are used to
develop underlying principles which describe some of our physical
universe. Conceptual reasoning is stressed while mathematics is limited
to arithmetic reasoning. A hands-on approach to instruction is used to
more easily gain insight to the concepts being studied
These courses may also be available during Spring and Summer of 2012
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Physics or
Bachelor's
degree in Physics with a Master’s Degree in a related
field..
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in Physics. Successful teaching experience at the college
level.
SALARY:
Salary is determined by the college salary schedule, and varies
depending on the degree and mode of instruction.

Green River Community College is located on a 168-acre wooded site near
Auburn, Washington, about 30 miles from both Seattle and Tacoma. The
