Get Involved, Learn Leadership Skills
and Make a Little Money – All at the
Same Time
There's more to college than attending
classes, studying and taking exams.
Much of what you learn in college comes
from experiences outside of the classroom.
There's something going on every day
- lectures, club meetings, student government,
art exhibits, concerts, intramural sports,
and more. A great way to use your voice
and be involved on campus is through
the Community Leadership, Education,
& Outreach (CLEO) Program.
Green River Community College's leadership
program, CLEO, provides students the
opportunity to learn valuable skills
with hands-on experience in managing
a program while at the same time earning
money. Each position assumes responsibility
for planning, organizing, budgeting,
and implementing activities to meet
the varied needs of Green River students,
faculty, staff, and surrounding communities.
During the summer participants spend
a portion of their time in workshops
and training sessions that supplement
their on-the-job training. Training
also focuses on the communications skills
necessary for the CLEO members to become
student ambassadors for the college.
The skills and experience gained in
this program have helped many CLEO members
move on to highly successful careers.
This highly respected program has
established Green River as a model for
student development programs throughout
the USA, and you can be a part of it.
