Universities

One of our top priorities
at Green River Community College is
to help students transfer to top universities
throughout the United States. That
process is complex and takes time, but
our friendly, knowledgeable advising
staff is available to work with students
and help them navigate the process.
During orientation, students get
critical information about the US education
system and an overview of the process
of transfer. Additionally, students
are taught about the differences between
the US system and other systems throughout
the world.
During their first academic term,
they will have a “New Student Appointment”
to begin the process for themselves.
Students will start with “big picture”
ideas and goals and then work their
way down towards concrete steps necessary
for them to reach those goals. As goals
are set and revised, they will be reflected
on the student’s individualized academic
plan.
During the university transfer process,
advisors are available to help students
with questions about applications, to
revise and critique personal statements,
and to advise on transition after acceptance
to the university of their choice.
Whether advising on transfer to top-tier
universities or on more modest goals,
the advising team helps guide students
through the university transfer process
so that they can realize their aspirations
for study abroad.
