Facilities Master Plan Core Committee The Facilities Master Plan Core Committee and several sub-committees support the college’s master planning and capital request processes. The purpose/vision and mission of each and their relationships to one another are described below. Mission: The FMP Core Committee provides leadership and guidance in the development of a Facilities Master Plan that presents capital solutions in response to college needs and creates facilities that support institutional goals. Committee Functions: The committee gathers input from faculty, staff, administration, students, community members, regulatory agencies, and the Board of Trustees in the establishment of plans that are supportive of the college’s strategic plan and are reflective of our Master Planning Principles. The committee insures that the Facilities Master Plan includes facilities replacement, renovation, and growth sequenced over time as well as the location of future buildings, walkways, parking, and other infrastructure features. Using input from design consultants, facility conditions surveys, instructional and student services plans, IT/telecom, the foundation, and IP planning efforts, the committee integrates evolving programmatic needs and existing facilities conditions into the plan. From the Facilities Master Plan, the committee recommends capital request components for each biennium to President’s staff, Board of Trustees and State Board. Biennial Capital Request Committee Capital Request Committee Mission: The Biennial Capital Request Committee provides leadership and guidance in the development of biennial capital request components for building replacement, renovation, growth, minor improvement and repairs, etc., that respond to changing needs, and create facilities that support institutional goals. Committee Functions: Using input from design consultants, facility conditions surveys, instructional, and student services plans, IT/telecom, the foundation, IP planning efforts, and design consultants, the Biennial Capital Request Committee develops the biennial capital request package for submittal to President’s staff, Board of Trustees and State Board. Facilities Major Capital Project Design Committees Design Committee Mission: Design Committees take input from the Facilities Master Plan, design consultants, the instructional and student services plans, and user and support groups to develop project designs as well as make design modification decisions throughout the life of a project. Committee Functions: Project committees develop designs for specific capital building projects that support the college vision, mission, institutional goals and values. Committees also respond to design issues during permit, bidding and construction phases. Committee members will include faculty, staff, and administrative representatives. The makeup and tasks undertaken by capital projects committees are project dependent and ad hoc in nature.
