Stroll the streets of Valencia and
discover its rich cultural heritage. Roman, Arabic, Gothic and
Baroque influences can be found throughout the city. Well known for
its history and art, it is also a modern, dynamic Mediterranean
city, with a population of about one million people. Valencia is the
third largest city and boasts the best climate in all of
Spain.

Campus:
Classes
will be held at the AIP Language Institute, situated in a central district
of the city, characterized by quiet residential areas and a wide variety
of small local shops.
Students will earn credits in Spanish language
and other courses

that vary each year. Psychology courses will be offered in addition
to the Spanish language classes for the 2012 program.
This is an Academic Study Program and students must carry
a 15-credit load and are expected to fully participate in all class
activities. Students will earn Green River Community College
credits for the courses they take in Valencia.
Application Requirements: Students with a GPA of 2.5 or
higher are eligible to apply. Transcripts are required. Minimum age is 18,
or 17 with parental permission.
Faculty: Spanish language courses are taught by approved
local faculty from AIP Language Institute. The group will also be accompanied by
a Washington State Community College faculty member to teach additional
courses.
Accommodations and Meals: Students will live with local
families in their homes. All families are carefully screened and selected
by AIP Language Institute. Students will have their own individual room;
half board (2 meals per day) Monday through Thursday; full board Friday
through Sunday. The families are all located at a manageable distance
from Valencia city centre and the school, never more than 25 - 30
minutes away on public transit. In-house laundry service provided once a
week.

panoramic bus welcome tour, and full calendar of weekly activities.

Las Fallas, March 16th - 19th, homestay accommodations and full board
included.
All excursions and cultural activities are
subject to change.
Independent Travel: Use your free weekends to see places
in Spain you would like to visit. AIP Language Institute has a culture
guide who is a resource for students to help them organize their trips
in and out of Spain. In addition, the school also organizes at
least one evening out a week to get to know the exciting sights of the
city as well as day and/or weekend excursions to discover the best-kept
secrets of Spain. Independent travel fees are not
included.

Transfer from/to Madrid airport. Pre-departure and arrival
orientations. 2 days in Madrid, including half board, cultural
visits to major museums, monuments and other highlights. Host
family in Valencia with individual room, half board Monday -
Thursday and full board Friday - Sunday. Daily Spanish as a
foreign language sessions, Monday - Thursday at AIP Language
Institute. Maximum 8 students per class. Computers and Wi-Fi
available at AIP Language Institute. Full day excursion to
Valencia region, panoramic bus welcome tour, and full calendar of

Optional Air Package: Cost TBD
On a space available basis, students may purchase the optional
transportation package consisting of international airfare. A
non-refundable deposit is due no later than November 2, 2011.
A minimum of 10
participants must purchase the flight for it to be offered.
