Green River website wins the bronze!
Green River Community College's new website earned a Bronze Medallion of Merit from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) at their annual regional conference held in Salem, OR last week.
The site was one of three recognized in the region by the organization this year for overall creativity and effectiveness in marketing and communications; use of hypertext links; use of graphics; and ability to solicit action or return visits from web browsers.
The Green River website, which launched on Jul. 2, 2012, represents four years of research, development and cross-campus collaboration. The Marketing and Communications and Information Technology departments worked closely to incorporate feedback from the campus departments, faculty and students.
"When you spend so much time on one project, it is great to get confirmation from your peers that it was all worth it," said Information Technology Specialist and project team member Lansing Bryan.
Medallion Awards are awarded by district region and recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges. Judging takes place in 26 categories such as website, logo design, social marketing, annual report and more.
With more than 1,550 members from over 650 colleges across the nation, NCMPR represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges.
NCMPR District seven includes two-year schools in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Yukon Territory.
