Florida Atlantic University recently named Green River Community College’s Dr. Deborah Casey as Distinguished Alumnae for the Educational Leadership and Research Methodology Department in the College of Education. Dr. Casey, dean of Student Affairs, is a graduate of the university and is credited with establishing a scholarship that is given annually to doctoral students in the higher education discipline, according to Dr. Robert Shockley, professor and chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology. Dr. Casey has designed curriculum for our program and served as an adjunct professor and a mentor to students pursuing their degrees and careers in higher education, said Shockley. Casey was recognized at a special ceremony earlier this month.
