Green River was recently honored with a visit by a delegation of Chinese representatives from the Civil Aviation Flight University of China.
Xiaoyoung Zheng, president of CAFUC, and Qingru Tang, a dean of the Aviation Engineering College at CAFUC, visited Green River's main campus on Dec. 10 to meet faculty, visit with students and tour classrooms.
Board of Trustees Chair Tom Campbell, Mayor of Auburn and Trustee Pete Lewis, and Clover Park Technical College John Walstrum joined the delegation at a welcome reception held in their honor.
Green River currently serves 39 CAFUC students in Air Traffic Control and Dispatch, and 25 students have graduated from the dual program. The graduates either immediately found jobs in China's booming aviation industry or are pursuing advanced degrees in aviation at American institutions such as Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
The CAFUC delegation works closely with Qiu Zhenhua, chief representative of West China Development International Group, Inc. International Programs and Green River look forward to long-lasting partnerships with West China Development International Association in Chengdu, China, and CAFUC.
