Shelley K. Bannish and Dani Chang
Dani Chang, Green River's director of student services, leadership and involvement, was recognized with the Shelley K. Bannish Outstanding Advisor Award at the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) West region as an outstanding advisor at the organization's annual meeting held Nov. 15 through Nov. 18 in Portland, Oregon. The award recognizes a staff member exhibiting dedication to student development and student leadership.
"I'm honored to be recognized for this award and am happy to represent Green River at the National Association for Campus Activities," Chang said. "And I'm especially proud to be working with my amazing student leaders."
Award candidates must have actively participated in NACA activities, made a significant contribution to campus life as a campus activities professional, demonstrated the potential and commitment for excellence in service to student leaders, viewed by colleagues as an educator, and displayed genuine support and regard for students.
"You are lucky to have such a great individual and someone so dedicated on your campus," wrote Shelley Bannish, the director of the student life and involvement center and interim director of student services at Centralia College, in an email to President Eileen Ely and Vice President of Student Services Deb Casey. Bannish presented the award to Chang at the conference's closing banquet.
