Enumclaw Campus Manager Diane Anderson received the Rotary Club of Enumclaw's distinguished Gear of the Year award this June.
The Gear of the Year award recognizes one club Rotarian for outstanding service for the year. The club decides each year's recipient by an anonymous vote.
Anderson has been serving the Rotary Club of Enumclaw for 12 years. When she found out she was the recipient, she admitted, "I was totally surprised. There are so many club members that do so much - I just feel that I do my part as a member."
Anderson accepted her award at the annual year-end banquet in June. During the awards presentation, club president Lauren Hardman said to Diane, "We as a club see your enthusiasm for Rotary, your willingness to help and give of your time in the community, and your love for your family. You definitely bring your own unique set of values, skills and talents that you share with all of us." She continued, "I know your preference is to always remain behind the scenes, but we as a club have seen you and want to say thank you."
Rotary International is a service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
