Green River poetry contest now accepting submissions
Green River Community College is hosting a poetry contest in celebration of National Poetry Month. Students, faculty and staff poets are invited to submit their work.
Poets should touch on this year's theme: what does it mean to be a Green River Community College student, faculty or staff member? What experiences have you had? What have you studied, seen and experienced? Work on any other theme may also be submitted. All types of poems are welcomed.
Poems will be judged by Green River English instructors on relevance to theme, creativity and structure (including spelling).
Four poems will be selected and winners agree to have their poems placed on display in the Holman Library.
Poetry submissions are due by 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15. Winners will be notified by email by April 22.
To submit your work, print your poem on a piece of paper or download the poetry contest application. Include your full name and email address as a cover page. Drop stapled papers in the poetry dropbox near the Library Reference Desk on the second floor of the library.
