Green River athletics welcome athletes to campus
Green River 2012-2013 athletes.
Welcome day saw more than 140 Green River students arrive to participate in the 2012-13 athletic season for the Gators. The Swamp was abuzz on Thursday as Director of Athletics, Bob Kickner welcomed the student athletes and provided information on eligibility, fall registration, and available campus services at the annual All-Athlete Kickoff meeting. Volleyball, soccer and cross country are in full swing with their competitive seasons, while the baseball, softball, golf and basketball teams are into their off-season conditioning programs.
Volleyball Downs TCC in League Opener
Gator volleyball fans have been given many reasons to be optimistic this fall through the preseason. Head Coach Kyle Densley has taken the team to two tournaments and the team currently has a 9 - 5 record. On Friday, September 21 the Gators hit the road to Tacoma and took down the perennial power program in three sets to open league play. Sophomores Erin Fischer and Gwen Leituala have been providing strong offensive play at the net.
