KGRG-FM Tops iHeartRadio College Charts

After just one month online, KGRG-FM is topping the charts of iHeartRadio's college station category. Clear Channel Media & Entertainment, which runs the iHeartRadio website and apps, reported that from March 29 to 31, nearly 1,600 unique streamers tuned into KGRG. The online radio service expects a "large increase" in the station's number of unique listeners for the month of April. KGRG-FM anticipates “a minimum of 25,000 individual listeners per month” from the combined listenership of iHeartRadio, the KGRG-FM website and over-the-air broadcasting.

"Today's Rock" rocks on,"Tom Krause, KGRG's director of broadcast operations, said. "We’ll do our very best to stay number one and make GRCC proud, and our broadcasting students deserve all the credit.”

KKGRG-FM joined iHeartRadio in February as part of iHeartRadio’s first expansion into the college market. It was one of two college stations west of the Rockies to be added to the free digital online service. The other western college station is KZSU based at Stanford University. Other colleges included in iHeartRadio’s initial college station roll-out include Rice, DePaul, Temple, Syracuse and Vanderbilt universities.
