Northwest Construction Consumer Council Awards Salish Hall
The Northwest Construction Consumer Council named Salish Hall to its 2011 Distinguished Project Award list, awarding the new classroom and office building with an Honorable Mention for a Public Project over $10 million. The College was notified earlier this year of the award, but it was only last week publicly announced by the Council on its website.
To receive an award, a project must be thoughtfully designed, incorporate cost-effective construction ways and means, exhibit excellent quality, incorporate sustainable design features and the project team must have demonstrated a commendable safety record. The Council created the Honorable Mention award for the 2011 project list to recognize Salish Hall.
The Council was founded in the late 1980s incorporating public and private capital project-oriented organizations. It is designed to “providing programs exploring best practices in cost-effective construction for capital and maintenance projects.” For more information about the awards and the Northwest Construction Consumer Council, visit their website at nwccc.org.
