You are invited to the Lea Hill Park grand opening
These plans for Lea Hill Park have turnedinto reality.
Please join the City of Auburn Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. for a special dedication ceremony to celebrate the opening of Auburn's newest park. Lea Hill park is located at 124th Avenue SE and SE 316th St., Auburn.
The park, acquired as part of a land exchange with Green River Community College, was designed by Susan Black and Associates and built by Bargmann Enterprises, LLC.
The new seven-acre park features a skate spot, walking pathways, a wooden picnic shelter reminiscent of a barn, an amphitheater, baseball field, free game synthetic sport area, half basketball court and a play area.
A $60,000 King County Youth Sport Facilities Grant helped fund the synthetic sport area and a $20,000 KaBOOM! Let's Play Construction Grant funded a portion of the playground.
A new piece of public art, a bronze sculpture titled "Strawberry Calf" by artist Michael McLaughlin, will also be unveiled at the grand opening.
The synthetic sport area and picnic shelter will be available for patrons to rent for parties and other special occasions.
