Ottosson continues golf career at Pacific University, Ore.

Madeleine Ottosson Madeleine Ottosson finished first place in the NWACC championships

Green River sophomore golfer Madeleine Ottosson (Gothenburg, Sweden) wraps up her outstanding two-year career for the Gator Golf Program with a commitment to pursue her athletic career at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore.

The two-time, first team All-NWAACC performer tied for the 2013 Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges championship before losing medalist honors in a sudden death playoff. Ottosson led the Gators to a second place team finish at the championships.

Along with her first place finish at the NWAACC championships, she also won the Bigfoot Invitational in Spokane last April. Ottosson finished the season with an 85.9 scoring average in 17 rounds played.

Named to the NWAACC All-Academic team, Ottosson plans to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry at Pacific University while helping the Boxers compete for a Northwest Conference Championship.

"Madeleine has been an outstanding representative of Gator Athletics and the international program at Green River," stated Director of Athletics Bob Kickner. "I respect her very much for turning down opportunities at larger schools to focus on her academic pursuit in toxicology and chemistry. She loves the Northwest and knows what she wants from her college experience. Pacific is receiving a well-prepared student athlete."
