Make Your Mark

Retired economics instructor Dave Mowrer dedicated the majority of his working life to Green River and to the education of students in the field of economics. In fact, in 2002, Dave was the recipient of the “Advancing the Dream” award, presented by the College of Business at Central Washington University.

The award only recognized what his students and peers at Green River already knew: Dave’s students left Green River prepared to succeed at the four-year universities, and in life. Local businessman and alumnus Steve Trott says, “He was a great teacher. I still use things I learned in his courses.”

Having taught at Green River from 1967 to 2002, Dave also served as the chair of the College’s Instructional Council, the Social Science Division (for ten years!) and was a recipient of Green River’s Distinguished Faculty Award.
