Women's Track & Field
Introduction
I n 2011 Green River reinstated the men's and women's track team as a natural extension of the cross country program started in 2009. Under the direction of Coach Tori Ammons the grass roots program has provided the opportunity for natually talented sprinters and middle distance runners to join a thriving long distance program in competitive track events. In 2012, Freshman Lisa Petersen scored the first NWAACC championship points for the Gators since the program last competed in 1992.

Meet the Coaches
Tori Ammons, Head Coach
Coach Ammons returns for her third season with Green River cross country and was successful establishing the GRCC track program in 2011. Previously, Coach Ammons was the head cross country and track coach at Auburn Mountainview High School for four seasons prior to joining the Gator staff. Coach Ammons was named the 2010 NWAACC Northern Region Cross Country Coach of the Year. She brings an outstanding passion for the sport fueled by her competitive experience as an NCAA Division I athlete at Washington State University where she earned Pac 10 All Academic honors. She was a two time Washington State High School Champion in both the 100m and 300m hurdles. The opportunity to train and develop runners in the South Puget Sound area has been bolstered with the addition of Coach Ammons are Green River CC.
Jacob Fullen, Assistant Coach
Coach Fullen returns to Green River to become an assistant coach in the GRCC running program. A two-year, two sport letter winner in cross county and track and field, Jacob was named to the All-NWAACC academic team in both sports before heading off to the University of Washington. He was an assistant cross country coach at Kent Meridan HS.
