Mission Statement
Counseling and Health Services fosters student
success and retention by teaching emotional coping techniques, informing
and educating students on relevant health and wellness topics, and
developing effective self-care skills for optimal lifelong psychological
and physical health.
Counseling

Both
college and personal life can be complicated and stressful and students
may sometimes need assistance in order to reach their academic goals. The professional counselors in the Counseling Office tend to
the personal needs of the student by providing the support to explore
emotional concerns, develop new awareness and skills, and appreciate
existing strengths, qualities and abilities.
Students
can benefit from personal counseling by improving self-esteem, decreasing
anxiety, learning stress management, physical self-care, relationship and
coping skills, and by developing a clearer sense of self, purpose and
meaning in relation to community.
Health & Wellness Office
Students
can benefit from health and wellness services by learning skills for
creating and maintaining their health. Healthy eating habits, exercise,
safe sex practices and knowledge of disease prevention are just a start in
the important task of respecting the body and developing vibrant health
for life.
