Getting Started With My Course Once you have registered for a eLearning course go to the Class Schedule for information about the instructor and the type of course. The following information describes the types of eLearning courses offered at GRCC and what you need to do to start each one. These classes run on a schedule just as though it were offered on campus. They have required due dates and are not self-paced. All Green River Blackboard classes open at noon on the first day of the quarter. You cannot login to a Blackboard class until after that time. WAOL Blackboard classes open earlier so be sure to check the Class Schedule for the start dates of your WAOL course. Types of Courses Green River Community College offers three different types of eLearning courses:
Online classes will require you to have access to a computer and at least a browser, email address and word processor. The largest number of distance courses offered at the college are Internet based or online courses. These courses utilize the World Wide Web to deliver the course material.
Most of the GRCC
Online courses use course
delivery software developed by Blackboard or Angel Learning. Look for

Some of our instructors have created their courses using Web development software. In this case the course website listed in the Class Schedule will contain your instructions. These courses will not require a login ID and password. Many of our online instructors require proctored exams. You can take the exam at our testing center or arrangements can be made for the exam to be proctored in most places throughout the world. Check with your instructor for more information. FLEX courses combine online and classroom instruction. The Class Schedule lists the time and location of the first meeting. Your instructor will give you directions about your course at that meeting. All GRCC Online courses are taught by GRCC faculty and their contact information is on the Class Schedule. Washington
Online

system. This icon on the Class Schedule
The instructors who teach the WAOL courses are usually not GRCC instructors and so they will not be available to you through our campus. At the present time we do not have e-mail addresses for WAOL instructors so if you have a question about or problem with your WAOL course it will have to be haneLed by WAOL staff. This website is their help site or you may try the WAOL home page. You may also call them at 1-888-580-9011.Students enroll through Green River Community College, which registers students for the course, keeps their grades, and grants credit when students complete the course. WAOL courses start earlier than Green River courses. Please see the current class schedule for the dates. Students registered via the Washington Online virtual Campus will follow the policies and procedures that govern student conduct, disciplinary procedures, and procedures for resolving student conduct which are in place at Green River Community College. Washington Online Virtual Campus students are responsible for being familiar with the student rights and responsibilities and code of conduct of Green River. Jurisdiction and authority for discipline of students registered through the Washington Online Virtual Campus rest with the enrolling college (Green River Community College); however, administrators and faculty of Green River and/or Washington Online Virtual Campus staff may be included in investigations and final decisions regarding a discipline situation. All appeals will be haneLed according to the policies of Green River Community College. GRCC Telecourses Telecourses present course material on videotape. Most of the videos have high production qualities, and they do not require any equipment other than a television and VCR. All
GRCC Telecourses are run by GRCC faculty and their contact information
is on the Class Schedule.
