7/20/09 Progress Report

Construction of the 43,000 square foot addition to Kent Campus was substantially completed on June 15, 2009. The GRCC purchase of the new Kent Campus Phase II condominium followed on June 18th.

 GRCC staff are accepting deliveries and coordinating the  installation of furniture, computer, and media equipment. The project is on schedule to install IT/Telecom equipment and furniture, and move in staff in time for a fall quarter 2009 opening.

2/24/09 Progress Report

Construction of the 43,000 square foot addition to Kent Campus is scheduled to be completed by the middle of May 2009. The exterior finishes are nearly complete and interior framing is well underway.  Cabinetry is being installed in the multi-purpose science lab on the third floor of Kent Campus I.

A May completion will allow four months to install IT/Telecom equipment and furniture, and move in staff in time for a Fall 2009 opening.

9/30/08 Progress Report

Construction of the 43,000 square foot addition to Kent Campus is well underway with substantial completion scheduled for May 1, 2009.  This will allow 4 months to install IT/Telecom equipment and furniture, and move in staff in time for a fall quarter 2009 opening.

2/26/08 Progress Report

Design efforts are nearing completion for a 40,000 square-foot addition to Kent Campus I. The new facility will be constructed on the second and third floors of an 80,000 square foot, four story building and connected to the existing building by second and third floor sky bridges.  The new space will house additional classrooms, labs, faculty offices and student service functions and provide opportunities for the college to expand its offerings and services.

The state’s lease and purchase program will finance the purchase of this new Kent Campus II condominium.

Construction is slated to begin in late spring 2008. It is anticipated construction will be completed early Spring 2009. Kent Campus II will be operational by Fall 2009.
