Student Financial Aid Portal

Important Notice

The Financial Aid Office is currently processing files that were completed in February.

You can now check your financial aid status, view and accept your awards, and find out if we need additional information from you online.

GRCC does not use all of the available links on the Portal. Please refer to this page or contact GRCC’s Financial Aid Office at (253) 833-9111 ext. 2449 or email finaid@greenriver.edu with questions.

Student Financial Aid Portal Guidelines:

Show All | Hide All

To use the Portal, you will need to enter a social security number (Username) and Password. Your Password is your Green River PIN number. If you do not have a Green River PIN number yet, your Password is your six digit birthday (mmddyy). If you are having trouble logging in and your birth date starts with a zero, try dropping the zero and use a 5-digit birth date.

If you have applied for Admission to Green River Community College but have not attended New Student Orientation (where you receive your “Global PIN”), you can call the Financial Aid Office at (253) 833-9111 ext. 2449 to have your password for the portal set to your six digit birth date. This password will only be available for that day. Passwords are replaced by your Green River Global PIN on a daily basis.

Once Green River’s Financial Aid Office has determined your eligibility, you will be able to view your awards. You will have the option to “accept” or “decline” awards.

If you use the portal to accept financial aid awards, you accept responsibility for reading and understanding the following:

It is important to note that if you are Accepting a student loan award, or a loan has already been Certified, additional items may be required before the Financial Aid Office can request your loan funds.

NEW student borrowers at GRCC must complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note online before the loan request will be processed. You will need your FAFSA Pin to complete these.

  • Go to www.StudentLoans.gov.
  • Select “Sign In” under Manage My Direct Loan
  • Select “Complete Entrance Counseling” (twice)
    • Select “I am an undergraduate student” and follow the prompts
  • Select “I am an undergraduate student” and follow the prompts
    • Select “Subsidized/Unsubsidized” and follow the prompts

This section lists the documents or “items” that make up your financial aid application. Any documents or information that we are missing will be listed without a date in the Date Received column. If there is a date in the Date Received column, we have the required document or information for that item. If there is a down arrow next to a document, clicking on the arrow will open a new window and take you to our Financial Aid “Forms” page in order to print the document. Look for the name of the document in the list that matches the missing required form (paying attention to the “years”). The Forms page is a long one, so scroll down to view more forms.

Once your file has been completed, it will be placed in line to be reviewed. We anticipate that all files completed by the “priority deadline” of April 15th will have eligibility determined before payment for Fall Quarter tuition is due.

We know that it can take what feels like a long time for the Financial Aid Office to review and award files. Please be patient with us as we try our very best to process the large number of applications.

The Financial Aid Office will post notes to you in this section. Always check this area in addition to the “Information We Need From You” .

YOU ARE REQUIRED TO AGREE TO CERTAIN TERMS IN ORDER TO USE THE PORTAL

By using this “Student Financial Aid Portal” you accept responsibility for reading and understanding the forms provided to you by links. If you do not understand something, you are responsible for contacting the Financial Aid Office so that we can help you understand.

You also accept responsibility for attending your classes. If you fail to commence attending or if you stop attending or withdraw from classes after the quarter has begun, you accept responsibility for paying back financial aid according to federal/state guidelines.

For security purposes, please make sure to “logout” of the Portal and close all windows when you leave.
