The Science
Division is accepting applications
to be
considered for adjunct instruction. Adjunct instructors are
appointed quarter to quarter based on student enrollment. For
specifics, applicants should contact the division for more
information.
BIOL
100: Introductory Biology
For non-biology
majors. Fundamental topics chosen from all areas of modern biology
including the environment, ecology, physiology and cell biology.
Uses examples from all kingdoms of life. Satisfies math/science
lab distribution requirement for the AA degree.
Meets 1-2:45 MTWTh.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in the
biological sciences or a related field with a clear, strong focus in
biology.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful teaching experience at
the college level.
THE FOLLOWING COURSE MAY BE AVAILABLE IN FALL 2008:
BIOL
110: Northwest Ecology
This class focuses on fundamental ecology of the Pacific Northwest
and is designed for the beginning college student. The diversity,
characteristics, and interactions of terrestrial, freshwater, and
marine organisms, especially as they relate to community and
ecosystem sustainability will be discussed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in
Biology or Bachelor's degree in
Biology
with a Master’s Degree in a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D.
in
Biology. Successful teaching experience at the
college level.
SALARY:
Salary
is determined by the college salary schedule, and varies depending on
the degree and mode of instruction.
