GRCC is accepting
applications for adjunct instruction. Adjunct instructors are
appointed quarter to quarter based on student enrollment.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Teaching a 5-credit introductory class for future elementary and
secondary education teachers and supervising a related field placement
component in area schools. The instructor must have knowledge of
Washington state teacher certification requirements, the Essential
Academic Learning Requirements, learning and teaching style theory,
classroom management techniques, and general teaching responsibilities
and requirements. Teaching methods used for the course must model a
learner-centered approach and promote hands-on activities and
group-work. The instructor must also work with
Project TEACH
faculty and staff to make certain that course requirements and
activities are consistent with the goals for the project.
COURSE/COURSE TIME:
EDUC 170: Introduction to Education
Fall Quarter: 1-3 on MW

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Teacher Education
or a related field. Previous or current teaching experience in public
school settings OR recent work with students, teachers, or
administrators in the K12 public schools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
Direct involvement with
Project TEACH at Green River Community College or a similar teacher
education collaborative.
SALARY:
Salary is determined by the
college salary schedule, and varies depending on the degree and mode of
instruction.
