DESCRIPTION: Teach
introduction to GIS Programming (GIS) classes as follows for Winter Quarter
(Jan - Mar), Monday from 9 - 12 and Weds from 8 - 12 am.
GIS 255 -
Introduction to GIS Programming - 5 credits
Introductory course
focuses on two GIS programming approaches for ARCGIS desktop: cover
basic of visual basic ArcObject and Python programming. Students
will learn how to apply principles of object oriented programming to
GIS application. Explore how Python scripts add functions to ArcGIS
along with tools/buttons to call these functions and learn to write
and debug scripts for ArcGIS
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Two
years experience with topics listed above and associates degree or higher
in a field directly related to GIS.
