The Social Science
Division is accepting applications to be considered for adjunct
instruction. Adjunct instructors are appointed quarter to quarter
based on student enrollment.
COURSES MAY INCLUDE:
POLS 101:
Introduction to Politics
An introduction to the discipline of political science and to politics
itself. Students explore and analyze political philosophies, political
ideologies, and the historical development of political thought,
democracy, authoritarianism, and the major political and economic “isms”
(liberalism, conservatism, capitalism, socialism, communism, fascism,
radical Islamism, feminism, etc.). Students will begin to assess how
well each ideology has dealt with the social, economic, and political
problems of the world, in the past and present. Students will further
explore and analyze why and under what conditions people choose any
ideology over others.
Schedule:
12-12:50 P.M. daily
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Political Science.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful
teaching experience at the college level.
SALARY:
Salary is determined by the college salary
schedule, and varies depending on the degree and mode of instruction.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE:
Green River Community College is located on a 168-acre wooded site near
Auburn, Washington, about 30 miles from both Seattle and Tacoma. The
college opened in 1965 and enrolls over 9,000 students, includes 11
instructional divisions and 50 vocational programs, and employs 131
full-time and approximately 200 part-time instructors. Green River
