POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT


Position: Air Traffic Control Instructor- Adjunct
Location: Technology Division

THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO ALL QUALIFIED APPLICANTS

The Technology Division is accepting applications to be considered for adjunct instruction.  Adjunct instructors are appointed quarter to quarter based on student enrollment.  For specifics, applicants should contact the division for more information.

THE POSITION: Green River community College welcomes individuals who have a commitment to teach and the ability to utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success.  Given the diversity of our student population, we encourage applications from individuals who can adapt instructional methods to a wide range of student backgrounds and interests. 

The successful candidate will teach Air Traffic Control classes covering En Route and Terminal Air Traffic Control.  The successful candidate should also be able to teach private pilot and instrument pilot ground schools, aviation weather, and other general aviation courses involving air operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years working as a professional (paid) air traffic controller

  • Knowledge of and how to apply

    • FAAO 7110.65 and other related FAA orders

    • the Code Federal Regulations (Part 91 - General Operating Rules)

    • Aeronautical Information Manual

    • NACO Flight Information Publications (VFR and IFR)

  • Demonstrated experience working with staff and students from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A pilot with at least a Private Pilot license

  • Aviation teaching experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation, education or operations management

  • Teaching experience in a community or technical college.

  • Additional Aviation Licenses, Flight Certifications, Ratings or experience (Example: Commercial Pilot, Air Transport Pilot, Aircraft Dispatch Certificate, Flight experience in high performance aircraft, complex aircraft and large or commercial aircraft)

SALARY: According to part-time salary schedule.
