GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Network Engineer is a member of the Enterprise Services team within the IT department and reports directly to the Director of Technical Services. This critical position is responsible for the college wide LAN, WAN, network and telecom infrastructure, building firewalls, routers, switches, security, backup recovery processes, complex problem identification, resolution and troubleshooting, and hardware and software support acquisitions. Tuition fee waiver program after six months of employment. The waiver would include all or a portion of tuition, services, and activities fees at most Washington state colleges and universities. Appointment to this position includes a state benefits package of health and dental plans, participation in a Washington State Department of Retirement Systems plan, sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays. Other fringe benefits include convenient daycare and on-campus fitness center. A union shop agreement exists for this position which requires membership in the Washington Federation of State Employees within 30 days of hire.
