About the International Programs Office:
The International Programs office at Green River Community College serves approximately 1000 international students from more than 40 different countries.  The majority of students are enrolled in academic classes, with the intent to transfer and pursue a four-year degree. Our students have transferred to top universities including: University of Washington, UCLA, USC, Indiana University, Purdue, University of Michigan and many other schools.  About 400 students are served in our Intensive English as a Second Language Program. Students usually live in Campus Corner Apartments, our on-campus housing facility, or with host families, in shared housing, or in apartments near the school.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Director of International Recruitment's primary function is to develop, plan, and direct the recruitment of international students from countries within assigned region.  The position reports to the Dean of International Programs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for annual, assigned recruitment target.
  • Markets and sells GRCC’s educational products and services to students, international agents and organizations.
  • Develops and implements individual marketing plan and manages assigned marketing budget.
  • Cultivates and maintains good working relationship with international agents and organizations.
  • Conducts E-marketing and sales.
  • Travels to promote GRCC and recruit students. Visits agents and organizations and attends college fairs.
  • Hosts agents and prospective students and their parents on GRCC campus.
  • Provides cultural, immigration, academic, professional-technical, and transfer information to prospective international students, parents and agents.
  • Participates as a member of the Marketing Team.
  • Participates as member of the Enrollment Management Team (which consists of the members of the Marketing, Advising, and Services areas).
  • Manages and mentors Student Marketing Assistant(s).
  • Executes other related responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 2 years experience in student recruitment
  • Proven track record with target-based recruitment
  • Experience with relationship marketing
  • Direct marketing and sales experience representing educational products and services
  • Experience with E-marketing/sales (e-mail, web)
  • Experience working with educational agencies
  • Ability to travel internationally two to six weeks at a time with a minimum of eight weeks annually
  • Experience living or working in international environment
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with languages other than English
  • Student advising experience
  • Knowledge of F-1 visa process and regulations
  • Demonstrated expertise with digital marketing
  • Experience working in a community college
  • Experience with Word, PowerPoint, and ACCESS database

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is an exempt position with an annual salary range of $50,000 - $58,000.  Position includes an excellent state benefits package (health and dental plans, participation in TIAA-CREF Retirement Plan, 24 vacation days per year, 11 paid holidays per year, and 12 sick days per year).  Other fringe benefits include tuition exemption, convenient daycare, and on-campus fitness center and the ability to participate in voluntary deferred compensation programs, Guaranteed Tuition Program and a flexible spending account (FSA) program.  Occasional work occurs during the evenings and on weekends and extensive travel.
