International Student Activity - Tree Planting

Dani Chang, Director of Student Life
 Martha Koch, International Activities Coordinator

On October 23, 2004, twenty-five members of Green River's Global Community Organization (GCO) along with two advisors (Martha Koch and Dani Chang) planted trees along the Green River at Whitney Bridge.   The club worked with the Green/Duwamish and Central Puget Sound Watershed (WRIA 9) and Earth Corps to plant over 500 trees, which in the future will help supply salmon fry with food.

Everyone worked hard to plant trees in the cold rain and hail. The paused long enough to huddle under a canopy for a short lunch break that consisted of hot coffee and donuts. Everyone had a great time being together, meeting new people and working to improve the environment.
