吴亚卓，北师大珠海分校国际金融学院2004级学生，2006年就读于绿河社区学院， 现在就读于美国USC南加大马歇尔商学院，明年2010年5月本科大学毕业，完成学士学位学业。
我的美国经典生活
我叫吴亚卓，是国际金融学院04级学生，于06年9月份来到美国学习。我的美国生活要比其他同学丰富一些，因为在我们最初抵达这里之时，只有我一个人住在美国人家里，其他同学都住在宿舍，所以我更靠近美国人的生活
我很幸运，因为我的“美国父母”很好很友善。他们经常给我介绍美国历史以及现在的社会状况；我们也常一起讨论中国和美国的生活习惯及其他经济政治问题。周末如果有时间，他们会带我去岛上的别墅玩，他们自己有游艇，我们可以出去航海，看日出和海鸥，晚上还有篝火，非常经典的美国生活。
美国跟中国的节日不同，一年中属万圣节，感恩节和圣诞节是最大的节日；万圣节的时候，她的小孙女装扮成一个小女巫，晚上她带着我们一起出去挨家挨户的要糖果；感恩节的时候他们把我带到亲戚家去，另我享受了一顿传统的美国晚餐，而在饭前大家要一起做祈祷，然后每个人讲一下感谢的人和事情，那种气氛真的让人觉得我们要学会感恩；在圣诞节的时候，我们就一起在家里装扮圣诞树，美国妈妈拿出她收藏了很多年的盒子，里面有大大小小的挂件，每个都有个故事；吃过饭后又互相送礼物，她送了我一个小毛毯，而我也送了她一个我亲手制作的十字绣，尽显中国风采，这些都是目前在国内还没有的礼仪风俗，让我们充分感受美国文化。
前一阵美国父母的女儿结婚，于是我很荣幸的参加了一场美国婚礼，感受那种两个人在教堂跟着牧师一起宣誓的严肃而又另人激动的场面。最让我震撼的是，美国妈妈带我去看的舞台剧和音乐会，在那里可以随处看见人们着装正式，举止高雅，而演出则是纯正的西方音乐舞蹈，这些都是在国内非常少见的，也是我来到美国之后才有幸经历的
我来到美国已经半年了，感觉美国相比中国来说生活水平要高出很多，物质生活富裕所以人们的精神生活也充足。我很幸运成为我们金融学院的一员从而有一个出国的机会，而我更加幸运的来到了美国求学和生活，这个选择无疑是最好的选择，并会改变我的一生，为我的未来奠定坚实的基础

My Wonderful Life in the USA
My name is Yazhuo Wu; I was a student in International Finance College in 2004 and I came to American on September, 2006. My American life is better than my classmates’ because I was the only one who lived in the host family after we got here. Therefore, I’m closer to an American life.
I’m lucky because my American parents are really nice people. They always tell me American history and the situation of Today’s society. We also talk about the customs and economic between China and the United States. If possible, they will take me to the island house to play. We have our boat so we can go sailing and see the sun rising and seabirds. We also have fire at night; all are classical in American life.
America’s festivals are different from China. The big festivals here are Halloween, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. On Halloweens, her granddaughter dressed up as a witch, and she took us to ask for candies from neighbors at night. On Thanksgiving Day, they took me to their relatives, and I enjoyed a plentiful and traditional American dinner. Before the big dinner, we prayed to God and Jesus Christ, and then we talked about who and what we were thankful for. At that moment, I felt we needed to study Thanksgiving. On Christmas Day, which is the biggest festival in the United States, we made up the Christmas tree together at home. My host mother had a big box with lots of ornaments in it; every one has its own story. After the big dinner, Americans like to send gifts to one another. She gave me a woolen blanket and I gave her a cross stitch which I made myself with Chinese feeling. Those are the customs we don’t have in China right now, which make me feel American culture deeply.
A short time ago, my host parents’ daughter married, and I was honored to attend an American wedding in a church, and feel the solemn and exciting spectacle when the couple followed the minister’s words. What most moved me was the opera and concert, which I attended with my host mother. I can see the people with formal clothes and elegant actions, and the show was traditional and classical western music and dance. Those are not common in China, and that’s my first time to see those in my life.
I have been here for half a year; I feel the life level is much higher in the United States than in China. Their material life is so abundant that their spiritual life is plentiful. I’m so lucky I am a member of our college and that I have an opportunity to go abroad. I’m luckier that I came to America to study and live. Undoubtedly, this is the best choice for me, which will change my life and help me establish a firm foundation.

各位老师同学们，你们好！
我是北师大国际金融2+2专业、04级的学生张薇， 现在就读于美国华盛顿大学奥林商学院。 借北师大珠海分校建立华盛顿州教育培训中心之际，向母校北师大和合作院校美国绿河社区大学表示最诚挚的谢意。并且，向积极推广中美1+1+2 项目的老师们表示由衷的敬意。毫无疑问，我能取得今天的成绩，正是得益于这样一个融合中美教育的项目。下面，我想谈谈我是如何受益于1+1+2 项目的。
在北师大学习的第一年，无疑为我们出国深造打下了最坚实的基础。国际金融学院2+2老师们为我们所作的一切，从师资配备，课程设置，到课余活动的安排，无疑为我个人的发展提供了最鼎力，最有效的支持。为了使我们国内的教学很好的与国外课程接轨，学校特意聘请了在国外受过高等教育留学归来的导师、学者为我们进行双语授课。专业课教材的选购，一律采用了英美高等学府最普及的教材。
这不仅加强了我的听说读写能力， 更重要的是，我所学过的专业知识可以顺利应用到后来在美国大学的学习中。为了让我们更好的了解国内外最新的经济信息，学校还邀请了知名经济学家，为我们定期开办了金融讲座。
这让我们对世界的经济事件，有了宏观的认识。
在美国绿河社区大学就读的第二年，让我对美国的社会，文化和教育状况有了更直接的了解。美国绿河社区大学国际事务处的老师们，精心筛选并推荐了一系列既能体现美国文化又能展现其人文气息的课程，
像社会学，心理学，人类学等。 通过这些课程的学习，使我对整个美国社会形态的形成，政治、经济、文化等有了更为深刻的认识，从而开阔了我看问题的视野，更好的适应在美国的学习生活。
为了使我们顺利进入心中理想的美国大学， 学校还开设了一些讲座，对我们申请美国的综合大学予以指导。国际事务处的老师更是全力支持并且配合我们的申请，
让我十分感动。
可以说正是有了前面两年中美教育作为基础，我才可以顺利进入到华盛顿大学奥林商学院，并且很好的衔接到最后两年地专业学习。尽管前面的路还会有更多坎坷，但我相信，有母校北师大和绿河社区大学的支持，我会走的更坚定，更有自信。我一定会以最努力的成果回报老师们对我们的培养和希望。

Dear teachers and friends,
Hello, my name is Wei Zhang. I graduated from International
Finance College of Beijing Normal University Zhuhai
Campus in 2004. I am now a junior student studying in
Olin Business School of Washington University in St.
Louis. During this time of establishing Washington State
Education and Training Center, I want to show my sincere
appreciation to my home school Beijing Normal University
(BNU) and our cooperated school Green River Community
College (GRCC). I also want to thank the people who
are dedicated to the development of 1+1+2 program. Unquestionably,
all the accomplishment I achieve should be attributed
to this program which integrates both Chinese and American
education. Thus, I will talk about how I benefit from
the 1+1+2 program in the following parts.
During my freshmen year, the classes I learned from
BNU/Zhuhai provide me the consolidated base for my abroad
study. Everything the teachers from IFC prepared for
me, no matter is the selection of teachers, the setting
of class or the arrangement of our extracurricular activities,?
gives me the most efficient and sufficient support.
For example, in order to well-joined the domestic and
abroad education together, IFC recruits a lot of experienced
teachers and scholars who have received the higher education
from British and America to teach us fundamental and
professional classes, and all the classes are given
in both English and Chinese. ?In addition, the course
materials adopted are the most popular one that recommended
by British and America higher education constitutions.
These not only enhance my ability of listening, specking,
reading and writing, what’s more important, all the
professional knowledge I accumulated can better applicable
to my future learning. Meanwhile, IFC invites plenty
of famous economists and holds some finance seminars
so as to let us know more about the world’s current
economic situation. This undoubtedly provides us a microscopically
understanding towards the economy issue of the world.
My sophomore year in GRCC, on the other hand, gives
me the opportunity to have a more direct comprehension
towards the society, culture and education of America.
The advisors from International Program Office (IP)
select elaborately and recommend a series of classes
which can well represented the essence of American humanistic
community. Such as sociology, psychology, humanity and
so on. Through the learning of these classes, I now
broaden my horizons towards the issue and have a profound
understanding of the formation of social structure of
American society, politics, economy and culture which
helps me better assimilated into the study and life
in America. In order to help us get into our dream school
in America successfully, GRCC often holds some information
secession and gives some guidelines on the application
of the university. The advisors from IP, like Ross Jennings
and Sarah also give me a lot of encouragement and support
which I deeply appreciate.
With the basis of former two years’ Chinese and America
education, I can now successfully get into Olin Business
School and well adapted to the life here and continue
my last two years’ academic study. Although there will
be a lot of frustration on my path, I believe that,
with the support of BNU/Zhuhai and GRCC, I will be
more confident and firm with my future study. And I
will try my best to use my success to repay all the
hope and help that the teachers give to me.

成功之路
我是北师大第二批留美学生，现在就读于绿河社区大学，已被印第安娜大学录取。美国教育的独特性给我很深的映像，我想把北师大的“1+1+2”项目和美国的社区大学的转学制度的优越性与在中国有志于留美的学生们一起分享。
对于美国社区大学，很多中国人是陌生的，很多人把它想成中国的职业技术学校或者民办学校，其实不然.，社区大学是提供低级别高等教育的教育机构，毕业的学生可以得到副学士学位。另外，在社区大学修的课程和学分可以转到其他四年制综合大学，而且受美国法律保护，相比于留学生直接就读美国四年制大学，社区大学节省了开支，而且更有利于留学生适应美国教育及社会。绿河社区大学一年的学费是$8187，而公立大学如印第安那大学是$21,379，俄亥俄州立大学是$21,348，加州大学硌衫矶分校是$33,595，私立的圣路易斯华盛顿大学更是达到$34,500。美国文化和中国文化差别是很大的，而美国社区大学相对轻松的课程设置，有利于中国学生适应美国社会和文化，小班化教学能使学生更好的适应美国教师的教学方式，得到更为细致的讲解，并能增进留学生之间互相了解，互相适应不同文化。
美国社区大学的转学制度是比较完善的，社区大学可以帮助未完成高中学业的高中生在社区大学同时完成高中课程和大学一、二年级，这样不仅可以节约开支，更能节省时间，提早进入四年制大学学习。而且由于转学生已经在社区大学修得了大一、大二的基础高等教育课程并把学分转入了四年制大学，他们进入四年制大学从大三开始学习，并最终得到大学学士学位。
北师大国际金融学院的“1+1+2”项目，让学生在国内学习一年，然后在绿河社区大学学习一年，最后转入美国四年制大学学习两年，并最终获得学士学位。由于在国内学习也采用英文原版书籍和双语教学，这可以让学生在刚完成高中学习的学生在生活上和学习上循序渐进。北师大金融学院现有38名学生在绿河社区大学学习，9个同学已经转入美国名校，包括南加州大学，印第安那大学，亚利桑那州立大学和圣路易斯华盛顿大学。另有四个人已经被印第安那大学和俄亥俄州立大学录取，在绿河社区大学学习的同学平均GPA已达到3.78。在美国GPA超过3.5就可以上顶级大学。这个成绩引起了华盛顿州长的注意，并籍此邀请北师大珠海分校校长苗中正先生与之见面，华盛顿州长还希望美国驻华大使关注“1+1+2”项目,促进中美教育合作。
纵观世界百强大学，美国的大学占据多半席位，其教育质量要远远超过澳大利亚，新西兰的大学，甚至英国的大学。美国作为世界上头号强国，在科技和经济上都有世界最先进的理论，也应是中国学生留学报效祖国的首选目标，面临国内越来越大的就业压力，就读北师大参加“1+1+2”项目是一个通向成功的契机。

A WAY TO
SUCCESS
I am the second BNU group for studying in the United States. I am studying in Green River Community College (GRCC) and I was accepted by Indiana University. I am impressive about the education in the USA and I want to talk about “1+1+2” program and community college transfer system for sharing them with Chinese students who prefer to study in USA.
For the definition of community college, most Chinese are curious about it and think it is just like the technical and career training school or continue educational school. It is not true. Community college is an educational institution providing higher education and lower-level tertiary education, granting certificates, diplomas, and Associates' degrees. Under the protection of the US law, the credit which the students get in community college can be transferred to the 4-years universities. Comparing to study in the 4-years university directly, it is belt-tightening to go to community college and transfer to 4-years University. Further more, it is good for international students to accommodate the education and society in the USA. The tuition for GRCC is $8187 per year while the tuition for Public Universities like Indiana University is $21,379 per year, Ohio State University is $21,348 per year, and University of California in LA (UCLA) is $33,595 per year. The private university like Washington University in St. Louis is $34,500. Chinese culture and American culture is so different. Comparing to the 4-years university, the easier course setting is good for Chinese students understand American society and culture. In addition, Small-Size class teaching is good for Chinese students to accommodate the teaching style of the American professors, get the explanation from the professor in detail and increase the understanding for the students from different culture.
The transfer system has been shaped for a long time. Community College also can help some high school students finish their high school courses meanwhile they finish their college classes for transfer. It can help them save the money and time for entering the 4-years university earlier. Because they study the university class in the community college and can get the credit which can be transferred, they just need study another two years when they enter the university and get the bachelor degree finally.
“1+1+2” program is a good framework designed by Beijing Normal University (BNU) Zhuhai Campus International Finance College and Green River Community College (GRCC). It is good for some excellent Chinese students go aboard for study some advanced knowledge. It let students study in BNU one year transfer the credit to GRCC, and then, study in GRCC one year. At last, Students will be transferred to 4-years University and get the bachelor degree. Because students study in English including books and lectures, this program saves money and make students learn gradually. At present, BNU international finance college has 38 students in GRCC. 9 students have been transferred to well-known universities including USC in Los Angeles, Indiana University, Washington University in St. Louis and Arizona State University. Another 4 students have been accepted by Indiana University and Ohio State University. In USA, GPA above 3.5 can make a student go to a top university. BNU students who study in GRCC have created the 3.78 average GPA. It gets the attention of the governor in Washington state and the governor invite the president of BNU/Zhuhai Mr. Miao to come to Washington state to meet her. The governor also hope and USA embassy in China focus on “1+1+2” for the educational cooperation between China and USA.
In my opinion, as the first strongest county in the world, USA also holds the strongest educational resources and most advanced knowledge and information. It is better than Australia, New Zealand even British. It should be the first choice for Chinese students go abroad for the bright future. “1+1+2” is an opportunity for success.
