Information in this section is designed to assist your transition to Green River Community College. You will find information on important dates, scholarship and work grant information, and dates you can meet with staff when they are in your country.

Summer Quarter: June through August 2011
Classes end August 11, 2011
Fall Quarter: September through December 2011
Housing move-in date September 7 & 8, 2011
Orientation and testing begins September 9, 2011
Classes start September 19, 2011
Classes end December 8, 2011
Winter Quarter: December 2011 through March 2010
Housing move-in date December 27, 2011
Orientation and testing begins December 28, 2011
Classes start January 4, 2012
Classes end March 22, 2012
Spring Quarter: March through June 2012
Housing move-in date March 26, 2012
Orientation and testing begins March 27, 2012
Classes start April 2, 2012
Classes end December 8, 2012

Pre-arrival Registration for New Academic Students

If you have demonstrated proof of academic-level English proficiency you can register for academic classes before arriving on campus. This gives you a jump start on getting classes for Fall Quarter. If they have taken the TOEFL, IELTS or any of the accepted proof of proficiency as listed on our web site. Please let us know the results so you can register for classes early.

Orientation is Required

Orientation is required for all new international students. At orientation, you will get information about: our campus, housing, registration, e-mail, student ID cards, transportation, health insurance, immigration, and ways to have fun and make new friends.

On the first day of orientation you will need to bring:

  • Passport and I-94 card
  • I-20
  • $10 academic testing fee
  • Current U.S. address and phone number
  • Proof of health insurance
