Green River housing goes the extra mile for students

What sets Green River Community College apart from many other two-year colleges is its comprehensive housing program. Students have a choice of living in homestays or on-campus student apartments.

Green River knows how important housing is to the success of a student. This is why our housing staff go the extra mile to give the best experience possible by providing a caring, positive, safe and supportive American living experience.

Homestay

Homestays offer experience living with a U.S. family and an opportunity to share American customs and culture, participate in household activities, and practice English skills.

  • Students are provided a fully furnished private room and U.S. style meals. This means that food is available for self-prepared breakfasts and lunches. The main daily meal, usually dinner, is prepared and shared together with the family.
  • Transportation to and from campus varies; most families are on a convenient bus line within 45 minutes to Green River. Some families drive students to and from campus daily.

Campus Corner Apartments

Some of the benefits of living on campus are:

  • Easy access to college resources (such as the Holman Library);
  • The ability to be part of university-style housing in a community college environment;
  • Fully furnished apartments with private bedrooms and communal kitchens;
  • Living with students from around the world. The residents at Campus Corner Apartments will be a blending of American and international students.

Airport Greeting

Airport pickup is arranged for students who apply for Green River housing. The service is included in your housing placement fee.

  • Your Host Family or Airport Greeter will pick you up at the baggage claim area.
  • Look for a sign with your name on it.
  • If you have trouble finding your "Greeter", go to Green River’s welcome table in the baggage claim area. The table is easy to find and is staffed with friendly, helpful folks that will make sure you get to your destination trouble-free.
