How to Put an Item on Reserve

Books, videos, CD’s, audio tapes, folders and other articles can all be put on reserve. Contact Ellen Royal-Ward if you have a question about a particular item.

  1. Bring materials to be placed on reserve to the Circulation desk at the Holman Library. We accept materials at any time during the academic year.
  2. You will be given a green "Reserve" card (see example below). Fill out card completely, including the date that you would like the materials returned or taken off reserve.

  3. Reserve items are processed within 48 hours. We will give you an estimated time that your items will be ready at the time you place the reserve. We ask that you keep the processing time in mind when you inform students when the material(s) will be available for checkout.
  4. If you have reserved a class set of books (such as for ESOL classes), arrange with circulation staff a time to bring your class in to check out.
  5. Please inform us if any special services are needed, such as collecting assignments from students or allowing reserve items to be checked out for an extended period for a particular student.
  6. PLEASE inform your students that they MUST have a student ID card to check out reserve items.

For questions regarding reserve procedure, contact Ellen Royal-Ward at ext. 2088.
