Student Access to Wireless

Wireless Access is available, but undergoing upgrading. Until upgrades are complete, please follow these instructions:

Internet Explorer

• Launch your browser and connect to either http://www.greenriver.edu/library/ or http://www.greenriver.edu/.
• To get to the “outside” web world:

  Go to a site outside of the Green River website such as http://www.google.com

  A screen appears that seems like an error page, but gives you a choice to do something like “connect anyway”. This choice says “not recommended,” but select this choice.

• The next screen will appear with boxes to login with user name and password (same as SID, password for other library machines). Login here for full wireless access to the web.

Make sure you have set your password before attempting to login!

Firefox version 2 or lower

• Launch your browser and connect to either http://www.greenriver.edu/library/ or http://www.greenriver.edu/.
• To get to the “outside” web world:

  Go to a site outside of the Green River website such as http://www.google.com

  When a certificate notice appears, accept it permanently or temporarily

• The next screen will appear with boxes to login with user name and password (same as SID, password for other library machines). Login here for full wireless access to the web.

Make sure you have set your password before attempting to login!

Firefox version 3 (the latest version)

• Launch your browser and connect to either http://www.greenriver.edu/library/ or http://www.greenriver.edu/.
• To get to the “outside” web:

  Go to a site outside of the Green River website such as http://www.google.com

  When a box appears that says “Secure Connection Failed.” At the bottom of the box, click the link that says “Or you can add an exception…”

• Click Add Exception at the next prompt.

  Accept the certificate permanently or temporarily if it appears

• The next screen will appear with boxes to login with user name and password (same as SID, password for other library machines). Login here for full wireless access to the web.

Make sure you have set your password before attempting to login!

GRCC does not support home computers. If you have questions, you can try asking library or Technology Center staff. Staff can only assist you. and are not permitted to actually touch your computer. GRCC IT staff won’t be available to support the installation.
