Telecourse InformationTelecourse BasicsTelecourses enable students to take a course on videotape and come to the campus three to four times a quarter instead of daily or weekly. Every quarter, the college offers several telecourses for students. The students can either pay a fee to rent the course on videotape and turn the tapes in at the end of the quarter, or check out an individual tape from the set and watch it in the library for up to two hours for free. Renewals are not available for Telecourses. The rental fee for each telecourse is $30.00 per course, per quarter. The fee is paid at the Cashier's Office. Quarterly Telecourse Check-OutStudents have the option to pay a rental fee for telecourse sets that they wish to use at home for the quarter. This fee is $30.00 per course, per quarter. Otherwise they can check out individual tapes from the set for library viewing only. In both cases, students must have their student ID cards. After paying for their course at the Cashier's Office, students need to come to Holman Library, show their receipt for paying the rental fee, and check out the telecourse set. GRCC ID's are required! At this time, students will be asked to sign a Telecourse Rental Agreement. By signing this agreement, the student agrees to turn the tapes in before the end of the quarter, avoid damaging the tapes, and pay a fine if the tapes are damaged or lost. Quarterly Telecourse Check-InWhen the quarter is finished, the students will return their tapes to the Circulation Desk. At that time, they will be asked if the tapes functioned properly and if they had any other problems. |
