e-books InformationHolman Library has purchased a collection of over 4400 electronic books from netLibrary, covering a wide range of subjects with specific collections in Information Technology and Nursing. You can access these e-books in two ways:
Tips for using netLibrary: View this eBook opens the electronic book in the online reader. You can actively view the eContent in 15-minute increments. Actively viewing includes turning pages using the NEXT button, searching within the full text, using the dictionary feature, making notes, etc. However, if you are not actively viewing the eContent, your access will time out after about 15 minutes and someone else will be able to view the book. Because we own only one copy of each e-book, only one person can view the book at a time. When you are finished with a book, click on "Close Item" to make it available to another person. NetLibrary allows you to set up your own private account if you wish. This means that you would create an account with a username and a password (IMPORTANT NOTE: this is separate from typing in your GRCC ID number to get into netLibrary if you are not on campus). Having a private account allows you to keep a list of titles you're interested in, save notes with texts you've read, and more. You read most netLibrary e-books using your Internet Browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla). Some titles may require you to have Adobe Reader. Many free online books are also available; including many English classics, and online books in non-English languages. |
