Paying for college is a challenge for most students. We can help. Green River provides the following funding options to help eligible students with their college expenses.

Financial Aid
Federal, state and college-based financial aid is available to our students in the form of grants, loans, work-study jobs and scholarships. To get this process started, just fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and our supplemental financial aid application. For more information, call Financial Aid at ext. 2449.

Scholarships
Scholarships from the Green River Community College Foundation and other organizations are available. For applications and information, call Financial Aid at ext. 2449.

Funding for Professional and Technical Programs
Workforce Education provides free and reduced tuition, fees, books and supplies for students who qualify for funding assistance. Our programs serve those who:

  • Receive or have exhausted their unemployment benefits.
  • Have recently lost their jobs, ended self-employment or received notice of an impending layoff.
  • Qualify as low-income.
  • Receive food stamps or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
  • Are divorced, widowed or separated.
  • Need additional skills to retain or upgrade their jobs.

Tuition Assistance for Pre-College Programs
We provide a number of low-cost programs to help participants transition to college and build life skills. Our programs serve those who:

  • Did not graduate from high school.
  • Are interested in taking the General Educational Development exam or GED preparation classes.
  • Want to earn their high school diploma and a college degree, at the same time.
  • Need to improve reading, writing or math skills to improve employment options.
  • Are speakers of other languages and want to improve their English language skills.

Military
The G.I. Bill, veteran's assistance and other military education benefits can all be applied to the cost of attending Green River. For more information, call Veterans Services ext. 2449.

Easy Payment Plan
Our Student Tuition Easy Payment Plan allows you to pay for your classes on an installment basis. For more information, call Enrollment Services at ext. 2500.
