Submit your best work to Espial by March 19, 2012.

Espial, GRCC’s award winning literary art journal is now accepting submissions from GRCC students, staff, and faculty. We are looking for your best work! The deadline is March 19, 2012.

You can submit: Poetry, Short Stories, Paintings, Photos, Ceramics, Metal Work, Collage, Drawings, Pottery.

Submission Guidelines:

Include a cover sheet with the following information. This is how we will contact you if your work is selected for inclusion or not, so please give us permanent addresses and information that will not change in the next month or so:

  • Name: First and Last
  • Address:
  • Phone Number:
  • Titles of the pieces you are submitting
  • Tell us a bit about yourself in 2-5 sentences.

Poetry, short stories and other writing must include:

  • 3 copies that do not have your name on them
  • The title of your work
  • If you are sending your submission as an email, please give us the coversheet info in the textbox, and attach your writing or paste your writing in the textbox, but with no names on the work. All written work is read as anonymous until we make our final selections.

Artwork must include:

  • Title (if no title call it “untitled”)
  • Your name
  • Type of medium
  • How we can contact you

Poetry:

  • Must be your own work.
  • One page per poem, typed 12 point font
  • Please send  your most creative work
  • Maximum 5 poems

Short Stories:

  • Must be your own work, (i think we said that enough).
  • 2-4 pages maximum length
  • Typed in 12 point font, double spaced
  • And it is very okay to submit up to 2 stories

Artwork:

  • Must be your own work
  • Tell us if it’s a drawing, painting, lithograph, photograph, sculpture, or any other awesome work.
  • No size requirements
  • 3 pieces maximum per artist (sorry)

All photography and artwork should be submitted to Gary Oliveira in SH-2 or with the SH building secretary.

All poetry and fictional entries can be submitted by e-mail to Avis Adams or in person in SH120-30. If you have questions, please contact Gary Oliveira or Avis Adams.
