The multi-award winning Broadway play “Man of La Mancha” will be presented by Theatre Extempore at Green River Community College, beginning March 11.
The performing ensemble of GRCC’s Drama Department will be at full strength for the production, with a cast of 36, and the show’s three-story set will make use of every inch of the 2,500 square-foot stage of the college’s new performing arts facility. “Man of La Mancha” is based on Cervantes’ classic novel “Don Quixote” and tells the story of a noble and idealistic knight who, with his faithful squire Sancho Panza, follows his dream of ultimate beauty and purity, doing battles with the powerful enemies of cynicism and brutality who attempt to thwart his quest.
The production runs Fridays and Saturdays,
March 11-19, at 8 p.m., with a special benefit performance on March 20 at
7 p.m. for the Green River Childcare Emergency Fund. Further information
and reservations are available by calling (253) 833-9111, ext. 2400 (from
Seattle (206) 464-6133 and from Tacoma (253) 924-0180). |
