Works on Paper

Sarah Dillon

June 25 - July 31, 2008

Green River Community College and The Helen S. Smith Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of drawings and prints by artist Sarah Dillon. Dillon’s graphically expressive works on paper take the form of an artist’s book, woodblock prints, linoleum cut prints, mixed media drawings in graphite, charcoal, ink, gesso and collage. Her subject matter draws out the charm from the ordinary, implying the notion of looking through a window watching events that tell obscure stories. The work hints at lyrics of folk songs, politics, travel, poetry and personal experiences. Artist Sarah Dillon finds a pulse between the conceptual relationships of objects, their surroundings, light, pattern and the way they interact with space.

Closing reception and artist talk: Thursday, July 31 at 1pm

The Helen S. Smith Gallery is located in the Holman Library on Green River's Main Campus. For hours of operation, use this link.
