Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Welcome to Office of Diversity Equity, & Inclusion!

Mission

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) champions diversity, equity, and inclusion principles to create an inclusive and accessible environment, fostering intellectual discourse, diverse leadership, and social justice within our institution and its surrounding communities.

We aim to empower, enhance, educate, encourage, and engage our diverse populations to have ownership of their narratives and to succeed in their educational journeys.

ODEI Program

The ODEI program prepares students to navigate the college system. ODEI works specifically to ensure the academic and social success of historically underserved and underrepresented students by providing innovative and high quality programs, services, and resources.

Become an ODEI Student! As an ODEI Student, you have access to our FREE programs, services and resources. All current Green River College students are eligible for ODEI. For more information on eligibility and requirements, contact Kiran Kaur, Program Coordinator, at kkaur@greenriver.edu

Our Services

Peer Navigators & Office Assistants

Peer Navigators are students who help other students navigate the college system. Many of our Peer Navigators learned how to navigate college themselves--often the first in their families to attend college.

Indigenous Student Success Center

The Indigenous Student Success Center (ISSC) provides a welcoming space for Native students to connect, socialize, and study, while also facilitating access to a range of campus and community resources and support services to help them succeed in their academic journey, thrive in their college experience, and fulfill their goals.

Book Loan Program

Do you need help paying for books? ODEI students can loan up to four books each quarter at no cost! Learn how you can utilize our Book Loan Program!

Diversity Educational Series

ODEI hosts, sponsors, and partners to provide events and programming in the form of workshops, presentations, seminars, trainings, keynotes, and student forums pertaining to the subjects of diversity, leadership, social justice, cultural awareness, equity, intersectionality, and inclusion.

Inclusive & Safe Spaces

Safe and welcoming environments for all of our students to build community and solidarity. Students are able to study, attend study tables with peer navigators, use computers, network with student leaders, build community, and host group meetings.

Passport to Careers

The Passport to Career program is administered by the Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) and helps current and former foster youth and unaccompanied homeless enroll, persist, and complete a postsecondary education.
