S-STEM Scholarship
S-STEM Steps to Apply
You must complete ALL 6 steps in order to be considered for an S-STEM Scholarship.
In addition, please print off and complete this application checklist as part of the application process.
Step 1: Online S-STEM Application
Fill out, print, and submit the online application.
Step 2: Confirmation E-mail
Please send your name and area of study to the Project Director, Donnie Hallstone.
Step 3: Financial Aid Forms
You must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Green River Community College Financial Aid Supplemental Application to determine federal financial aid eligibility. All S-STEM scholarship awards will be conditional on a student’s eligibility for federal financial aid.
Step 4: Personal/Educational Statement
Write and submit a personal statement outlining your educational and career goals. Please describe how these goals relate to your studies at GRCC. Please make sure to include your:
- Educational plans -- what program of study are you undertaking at GRCC. Why have you selected this field?
- Career Plans -- what are your career plans? How are your educational plans preparing you for this career?
- Participation in activities -- (clubs, volunteer work, and organizations such as PTA or school sports).
- Work and/or military experience.
- Honors or awards received.
Step 5: Letter of Recommendation
Please submit a letter of recommendation, preferably from an instructor or someone who can speak to your academic abilities.
Step 6: Transcripts
Submit a current GRCC transcript, other college transcripts and/or high school transcripts. (Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.)
