Registration
Lindbloom Student Center
Second Floor Lobby
Ext. 2500

Registration is the process of scheduling and paying for classes. Register for classes online using Web registration, pay your tuition and fees, and start on your way to success.

How to Register

You can do everything from our Web site!
www.greenriver.edu

When to Register

New students will be issued a Web registration appointment once the admissions process has been completed. Returning students will be issued a Web registration appointment based on the total number of credits earned. Transfer students will have their officially translated credits from other colleges added to their total number of earned credits the quarter after they are translated.

Web Registration

There are computers conveniently located in the Enrollment Services and Student Programs lobbies as well as in the Holman Library.

Here are the steps:

1. Go to the “Online Services” menu on the Web site.

2.View the entire course schedule for each quarter and plan your schedule.

3.Register for classes and print your schedule when you’re finished.

Other “Online Services” include:

  • Change of PIN number

  • Class Information

  • Find Registration Appointment time

  • Change of Mailing Address

  • Waitlist Inquiry

  • View Unofficial Transcript

  • View Student Schedule

  • View Financial Aid status

  • View Hope Scholarship information

  • Web Registration

Schedule Changes

Adding or dropping a class is a serious step. Please consult with your faculty advisor or an educational planner and read the college catalog before you proceed.

If you do find it necessary to change your schedule after the 3rd day of classes, make sure you have turned in the proper paperwork to the Registration Office or Enrollment Services. Changes are not official unless the paperwork has been processed by Enrollment Services.

Last Day to Register

Open registration ends on the 3rd day of classes for fall, winter and spring quarter, and the 2nd day of classes for summer quarter. All students who register after open registration must obtain the instructor’s signature for each course they wish to add or drop. Anyone registering for a course after the 10th day of classes must pay an additional fee of $35 per class. The only exceptions are identified late-start and continuous enrollment courses as indicated by Enrollment Services.

Maximum Credit Load

You must be registered for 12 or more credit hours to be considered a full-time student. Full-time students usually register for 12-18 credit hours. If you wish to register for more than 20 credit hours and are not enrolled in a professional/technical program, you must complete a Maximum Credit Load Request form before you register. You may obtain this form in Enrollment Services. You must have your advisor’s signature and recommendation on the form and turn it in to an educational planner for approval.

Withdrawal from Classes

During open registration you may withdraw from classes using Web registration. After the 3rd day of classes (2nd day in summer quarter), you must take the following steps:

  • Obtain a “Change of Schedule Form” from the Registration window.

  • Complete the form and obtain instructor signatures for each class you wish to drop.

  • Return the completed form to the Registration window by the end of the 8th week of the quarter (7th week in summer quarter).

  • All important dates are listed in the Quarterly Class Schedule.

Note: If you withdraw after the 3rd week of the quarter, the course title and a “W” in lieu of a grade will be posted to your permanent transcript. See the college catalog for more information on grading.

Withdrawal from GRCC

If you need to withdraw from school completely, follow the above procedure for each class you are registered for. When you want to begin classes again, you must update your application for admission in Enrollment Services.

Grades

Grades are available to students approximately one week after the last scheduled day of each quarter. To view your grades, you have the following options:

  • Print out an unofficial transcript using the “Online Services” portion of our Web site: www.greenriver.edu.

  • Obtain an official copy of your transcript from Enrollment Services by submitting a written request. Forms are also available on our Web site.

Grade Changes

If you believe you have an incorrect grade, you must check with your instructor. Only the instructor may submit grade changes to Enrollment Services.

Student Identification Number

GRCC requests a social security number on the admission application form. This number is stored confidentially in your records and is used only for purposes authorized by state law SB 5509. Your social security number will not be used as your student identification number. All students are assigned an SID when they apply for admission. This is the number you will use for all your transactions at GRCC. If you forget or lose your assigned SID, bring your photo ID to Enrollment Services to obtain your number.

Your Records

Enrollment Services maintains your student records, beginning when you apply for admission. It is your responsibility to make sure the college has your most current information on file. Here is what you need to know:

Keeping your information current

It is important that Enrollment Services has your most current mailing address both at home and/or locally. If you change your name, address, e-mail, or phone number, you must complete a Student Information Change Request form. This form is available at the Registration window and you can turn it in there as well. You will be required to present legal documentation of name changes. You may also change your address on-line using the “Online Services” menu at our Web site.

Transfer Credit Evaluation

If you wish to apply credits you have earned at another college to your program of study at GRCC, a credentials evaluator in Enrollment Services must evaluate your official transcript. To have this done you must be officially admitted to the college and have official transcripts sent to the records office. You must also complete an Incoming Academic Transcript Translation request form, which is available at the Registration window.

Keep Your Evaluation Letter

Your transcripts will be evaluated to determine which credits will apply to the program of study you intend to pursue. The results of the evaluation will be mailed to you within two weeks of the date it is received. It is very important that you keep your evaluation for advising purposes. Your transferred-in credits will not appear on your GRCC transcript.
