GRC Commencement to Include Live Stream and Captions

Green River College's commencement ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. at the accesso ShoWare Center on Friday June 14.

The event and will be live streamed on the College's Facebook page, with live captions available for all speeches during the live steam, as well as at the event. 

"Commencement is an exciting time for everyone to celebrate the achievements of our graduating students," Philip Denman, senior director, College Relations, said. "Live streaming the event with live closed captions allows us to share commencement with those unable to join us in person so they may celebrate alongside out students."

Live captions for the commencement ceremony will be produced by Kim Rashall, GRC captioner and a graduate of Green River's Court Reporting and Captioning program, and will be available on displays inside the arena and through an online captioning website by using a personal smartphone or similar device.

Graduates walking in the ceremony may begin checking in at 5 p.m. at the north entrance (loading dock area), but must be present by 6 p.m. The main doors will open for guests at 5:30 p.m. with the ceremony and live stream will begin at 7 p.m.
