Green River to host third annual College Signing Day for local high school students

By Philip Denman, April 16, 2018

Hundreds of local area high school students will flood Green River College’s main Auburn Campus May 9 and 10 to participate in College Signing Day.

An estimated 200 graduating seniors from the Auburn, Enumclaw, Kent, Tahoma school districts and Muckleshoot Tribal Schools will meet in the Student Affairs and Success Center's Cascade Hall at 8:30 a.m.

In it's third year, College Signing Day has grown to two days to accomidate the number of students.

"The event is designed to welcome incoming freshmen from local high schools, many of which will also be the first in their family to attend college," Chase Magliocca, program manager, Recruitment & Outreach, said. "During the event students will learn about college policies and resources, network with GRC staff, faculty, and students, and have the opportunity to register for fall quarter classes."

Representatives from across campus will participate in the resource fair, answering questions ranging from financial aid and student government, to athletics and student clubs.

College Signing Day is a collaboration between Recruitment & Outreach, Welcome Services, and the Career & Advising Center.
