PSE power project scheduled Aug. 28-31, main campus closed Wednesday, Aug. 29

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will begin work on Aug. 28 to resolve ongoing power issues that have caused periodic outages on Green River’s main campus and in the surrounding neighborhoods.

To complete the project, PSE will shut off power to main campus from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29. As a result, main campus will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 29, cancelling all classes, scheduled events and suspending operations.

Clarifications

  • It has been determined there are no alternate work locations for main campus employees on Wednesday, Aug. 29. Only essential employees will report to work on main campus on the 29th.
  • Essential employees will receive notification from their supervisor that they should report to work on the Aug. 29.

During the duration of the project (estimated to run Aug. 28-31), the West Entrance to campus will be closed and SE 320th Street will be reduced to one lane.

The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will continue to monitor the project and share additional information when available.
