Parents and Family Orientation was a Great Success
Sixty-four parents attended the Fall Quarter Parent Orientation. They came from Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Ukraine, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. In addition, eleven agency partners participated.
Our goal in hosting a two-day parent and family orientation, is to help parents feel comfortable leaving their child here to study. Our premise is to educate and showcase our programs and services, along with highlighting banking, safety and the surrounding area.
At the end of orientation, we survey parents asking if the information was helpful and what we can improve on. Many said, “It was very helpful”, “I think you have done a great job!”, “So far we feel everything is done well”, “We are pretty much satisfied, keep it up!”
Global Leadership Program Kicks off
The Global Leadership Program kicked off last week with 27 students from 11 different countries. Students shared what they wanted to get out of the program which included a better sense of self, leadership skills, and an understanding of different cultures. Dr. Suzanne Johnson welcomed all the students and shared some the basic principles she strives to demonstrate and encourage everyday in her role as President of Green River College.

Parent and Family Orientation and Hotel Reservation
We invite parents and family members to attend a special orientation for family members. Please let our Visitors Program Manager, Tawnya McLavey, know if you are planning to attend. As well, let Tawnya know if you need assistance with your hotel reservation.
